Bulletin Boards as Silent Teachers

My students are encouraged to interact with bulletin boards throughout my classroom.  Educators should strive to create bulletin boards that introduce new concepts in an exciting way. Bulletin boards appeal to the visual side of learning for students, especially ESL students.

In this picture,  two students provide peer support, helping each other with the vocabulary of this unit.  This fosters inquiry and collaboration, as well as independence allowing them to move about the room freely to seek their own answers.
